How to Install LAMP Server on Ubuntu, Linux Apache MySQL PHP

LAMP Server (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP/Perl/Python/Ruby) is a package of software includes Web Server (Apache/Nginx/Cherokee/Lighttpd), Database (MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQLite), Scripting Languages (PHP/Python/Perl/Ruby) and Linux Platform.
How to Install LAMP Server on Ubuntu, Linux Apache MySQL PHP
So We can install LAMP Stack on Ubuntu in simple and easy way, with and with-out using of Tasksel.

Solution: 1 (using Tasksel)

sudo tasksel install lamp-server
Use above code to install the LAMP on Ubuntu OS. Before this code, make sure tasksel are installed or not. To Install tasksel, execute following code,
sudo apt-get install tasksel

This is fastest and easy way to install LAMP on Ubuntu System.

Solution: 2 (using only apt-get without Tasksel)

Using apt-get, we can install Lamp Package on Ubuntu. It’s take 3 steps. Because, We have to install Apache, MySQL and PHP as separately.

Install Apache Server

sudo apt-get install apache2
To install Apache server, just execute above command.

Install MySQL

Using following code, you can easily install MySQL Server Database,
sudo apt-get install mysql-server

Install PHP

Below command for PHP. Run that code to install PHP.
sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5


1) Before this steps, just update your apt-get using below command,
sudo apt-get update
2) For PHPMyAdmin use following code,
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin
